We have been proud of our original recipe since 1842. We owe its taste not only to the same, unique brewing process, but also to the finest ingredients.
In 1842, brewer Josef Groll brewed the first batch of Golden Lager. Neither his recipe nor the brewing process has changed since the beer’s inception, and thanks to the skill of Pilsen’s brewers, neither has its quality nor its flavor profile. Thanks to the meticulous care of our bartenders, you can enjoy the best-poured Pilsner here.
As the saying goes, the brewer brews the beer, but the bartender makes it.
This is evidenced by the Hviezda Sládkov award, which we have won several years in a row.

The basic art of pouring, where the bartender’s skill truly shines, is the beer level a large beer with foam reaching the rim of the glass, poured in one go.
The result is a beer at the ideal temperature, with the right ratio of beer to creamy foam. We know it as a large beer.

Šnyt, or Šnytka as we call it, is a tasting beer. It used to be popular among patrons, who called it a “farewell beer” before heading home.
Karel Čapek wrote about the Šnyt as early as 1936 in Ľudové noviny:
“ As is well known, a ‘šnyt’ is a measure of beer; it is neither a pint nor a small beer, but rather an approximate measure. A small beer is ordered by non-drinkers; a beer drinker, when he doesn’t want to get drunk but just wants to wet his whistle, doesn’t order a third of a pint, for which he would somehow be ashamed in front of everyone, but a Šnyt. A “šnyt” is a pint, but not filled to the brim, with foam filling half the glass; it depends on the bartender’s goodwill how much foam he puts in the pint. "
A Šnyt looks like a small beer with a rich head in a large half-liter glass.

A very unique way of pouring is Mlíko.
At first glance, the beer resembles a glass of milk, because the mug is filled with creamy to velvety beer foam. The magic of Mlíko is revealed when you drink it in one gulp.
After taking a sip, you’ll taste the beer, which is, however, milder and sweeter. It’s a beer with a mild “bite”.

Čochtan is a beer without foam. The bartender’s job is to pour half a liter of pure beer. Thanks to this pouring method, Čochtan contains 100% CO2, which helps quench your thirst.
It is especially popular among athletes because, of all the pouring methods, this one is the most refreshing.
